Christopher Nolan's
The Dark Knight made me dig out one of my favorite comics -
Mike Mignola's The Doom that Came to Gotham.
Doom is a surprisingly graceful pastiche of the
Caped Crusader and
H.P. Lovecraft that elevates both genres with clever writing and excellent art. Surprisingly, this work by the creator of the popular
Hellboy has yet to be released in graphic novel form so you'll have to go to
eBay to find it.
Perhaps also of interest to Hex readers is another book in DC Comics'
Elseworld's series,
Batman/Houdini: The Devil's Workshop. Special appearance by
Tom Mix!
