Edgar Allan Poe House and Museum  
Down a narrow street lined with rowhouses stands a monument to American literature, the Edgar Allan Poe House and Museum. Poe lived in the house for two to three years in the 1830s, shortly after it was built. The Edgar Allan Poe Society of Baltimore saved the home from demolition in 1941. And although it isn't located in the best part of town, this little rowhouse that once housed one of the most mysterious figures of the literary world provides a charming peek into Baltimore's and Poe's past.
