Neanderthals and modern man co-existed in Europe for less than 1000 years

Radiocarbon dating has solved many a mystery for man and it looks like the mystery of exactly when modern man colonized Europe is on the way to being solved satisfactorily thanks to new advances in this concept. A new study published in Thursday's issue of the journal Nature says that modern Europeans arrived nearly 3,500 years earlier than previously thought.
