Rosslyn Chapel claims historical roots in Canada

Among a multitude of beautiful ancient carvings inside the chapel is an archway of Indian corn stretched across the south window.

According to some historians this is a link made by one of the founders of the chapel, Sir William St. Clair in 1446, the last prince of Orkney. Apparently his predecessor Henry St. Clair, the first prince of Orkney, is said to have discovered America nearly 100 years before Christopher Columbus.
