Is John Mark Karr a "Confessing Sam"? Did his long-term obsession with he case lead to the delusion that he himself committed the crime? Or, as some have suggested, did he confess just to get out of a possible stint in a Thai prison? (Though, contrary to earlier media reports, Karr does not seem to have been under arrest in Thailand or charged with any crime there. His visa was revoked after Boulder authorities levelled the accusations against him.)
Boulder District Attorney Mary Lacy
has warned against jumping to conclusions and Karr has yet to be charged with any crime in the U.S.
Lara Karr, Karr's ex-wife has stated that
"she was with her former husband in Alabama at the time of JonBenet's killing, and that she does not believe he was involved in the homicide."Karr's brother
has also said that Karr might have been in Georgia with them at the time of the attack. Now,
acording to news reports, Karr has climed that he drugged JonBenet, even though no drugs were found in her system by the Medical Examiner.
Is Karr falsely confessing to the crime for reasons known only to him? He has obviously had a long standing fixation with the case and JonBenet. His wife mentions his fascination with another high-profile murder case, that of
Polly Klaas. Is he sick? Does he have other motives?
And be sure to check out
this sketch of the suspect compiled by psychic, Dorothy Allison. She definitely got the high forehead right. And the creepy eyes.
