The Strange Case of Trenton Duckett
On August 27, two-year-old Trenton Duckett was reported missing by his mother. Melinda Duckett told police that the boy had vanished from his bedroom in their Leesburg, FL apartment. The screen in the window had been cut. An Amber Alert was issued.

Melinda Duckett and Trenton's father, Joshua Duckett, were in the middle of a nasty divorce. Melinda had obtained a temporary restraining order against Joshua. He had threatened to kill her and Trenton. Police asked Joshua to take a polygraph concerning his son's disappearance. He passed. For some reason, Melinda refused to take the test.

Days pass. Volunteers hand out fliers. Melinda and Joshua go on Nancy Grace and the commentators remark on how Melinda's story doesn't quite add up though no one calls her a murderer. Melinda is so shaken she can't stay on the phone.

Then, suddenly, Melinda Duckett is dead. Police are calling it a suicide.

A tragic story. By all accounts, Joshua Duckett, Trenton's father, has cooperated with the police. He has experience with law enforcement. His father was a cop. James Duckett, former Lake County officer, is currently on Florida's Death Row for the 1987 murder of an 11 year old girl. He is suspected in several other killings.

And Trenton Duckett is still missing.
