Before Lawndale, There Was Glendo's Boy-stealing Bird

In 1977, Marlon Lowe was attacked and seized by a giant bird that was never identified in Lawndale IL. Varying reports have the child being lifted off the ground and carried a short distance by his shirt. The idea that a large (very large) bird would attack a child has been written off as far-fetched by many ornithologists, but many sites on the internet, thanks in large part to research on the part of Jerome Clark and Loren Coleman, list a few nineteenth century tales of such attacks. May I add one slightly-more recent attack to their compilation.
