Iwao Takamoto, the renowned animator responsible for designing Scooby-Doo and a number of other beloved Hanna-Barbera characters, has died at the age of 81.
Interesting life. Takamoto picked up his design skills in a Japanese internment camp. He also designed Astro, Muttley, and Penelope Pitstop.
