Linda Pendleton very kindly directed me to this in-depth and fascinating interview with Richard S. Prather she conducted in December of 2006. Prather, of course, was the creator of Shell Scott and wrote many other crime novels, including the recent Hard Case Crime edition of The Peddler.
In this incredible interview, Prather gives detailed notes on how to write a novel (he literally tells you exactly how to do it using Jack Woodford's technique), and touches on topics as diverse as books every writer should read, plotting, numerology, automatic writing, channeling, gurus, UFOs and more!
Linda Pendleton is the widow of the late Don Pendleton, creator of Mack Bolan, the Executioner, and a writer in her own right. I would like to thank her for providing this very valuable resource.
