The Leather Man's story lives on

His body was found 118 years ago this month on a Mount Pleasant farm, close to where Old Chappaqua Road now snakes under the Taconic State Parkway. Like the exact date of his passing in 1889, the Leather Man's story is mostly unknown. The man who wandered back and forth between the Connecticut and Hudson rivers took with him in death the secrets of his identity and his impetus.
