Unsolved Zodiac case attracts obsessed, amateur detectives

Tom Voigt was just a toddler when the elusive Zodiac killer last struck, gunning down a San Francisco cabbie and sending a blood-soaked piece of his shirt to The Chronicle in 1969.

Yet Voigt insists that the fear instilled by the Zodiac is one of his first memories, an indelible impression that has morphed into a near-obsession.
