Philadelphia Weirdness 
Is it just a whisper on the wind that strange people, resembling a bizarre cult, once inhabited Philly and became known as the Wissahickon Cult?

Long on speculation, short on fact. I guess there was no press handout from the concerned parties. From what's available on the web, this was just another ostracized religious group that took advantage of William Penn's offer of religious freedom. Many still exist and thus have greater ability to influence their public persona. No one, for example, would write such a piece about the "strange" Quakers.
