San Diego's strange history chronicled in new book

A Spanish galleon sits off the coast of Oceanside, its treasure still waiting to be discovered, and a fighting schooner with its guns still intact is sunk off the coast of Solana Beach.

Or so they say.

Both tales are recalled in "San Diego Legends" ($16.95, Sunbelt Publications) by Jack Innis, who chronicled more than 70 fascinating tales from local history.
