Skunk Ape or Aquatic Ape?

A "tall, pale, longhaired, nude man bounding from left to right, across the highway in front of her car." There are canals on either side of Rt. 92 and when our friend approached the area where she had seen the "man," there was no one there. Whatever it was that she had seen, it had moved so quickly that there was no doubt in her mind that its momentum carried it into the water.
